Lana is an Italian town in the Burgraviato area in the autonomous province of Bolzano in Trentino-Alto Adige. It is also a market municipality.
The hamlet Foiana (Völlan), located at 702 m a.s.l. between the village of Lana and the Palade pass, since 1977 it has housed a small peasant museum. The Mayenburg castle is located near the hamlet and to the south, in the direction of Tisens, there are ancient medieval bridges. It was the birthplace of Armin Zöggeler, the best sled runner of all time and one of the most successful sportsmen in history.
From 1913 to 1974 it had a railway connection: the Lana-Postal railway.
After an obelisk was placed at the junction for the road leading to the Palade pass during the Fascist period, during the administration of the mayor Christoph Gufler it was moved, due to the works for the construction of a new roundabout, at a peripheral site, that is, it was placed at the intersection of via Merano and via Valier. At the end of November 2012, the Süd-Tiroler Freiheit movement protested again, for this fascist monument to be completely eliminated.
