History, art and culture, at the Sacra di San Michele, are shown to visitors of all ages with great impact and immediacy.
First of all you can enjoy the path in the greenery and, as you go up, the splendid panorama and the imposing massif of the facade.
Once you reach the Abbey entrance, the Sacra is ready to reveal some of its most suggestive elements: the statue of St. Michael the Archangel created by the South Tyrolean sculptor Paul dë Doss-Moroder, the Staircase of the Dead with the Zodiac Portal and the legendary Torre della Bell'Alda.
During the special visits on the first Saturday of the month you can also admire the museum of the newspaper which collects objects of the past, the library which has about 10,000 volumes, the ancient rooms of the House of Savoy and, furthermore, tombs, arches, portals and pictorial works to discover, accompanied by volunteers from the A.Vo.Sacra.
