Salvation Mountain (en .: Mount of Salvation) is a colorful artificial mountain located in Slab City, a community free from the capitalist system, south of the California desert and north of Calipatria.
The mountain is made of all kinds of materials, such as straw and bricks, and decorated with flowers, hearts and religious symbols, it is the visionary work of former veteran Leonard Knight who decided to dedicate his life to God, erecting a sort of totem dedicated to Love and to Jesus.
Knight resided at the foot of the mountain, living in his car beside a camper village, welcoming tourists from all over the world who come to visit his work.
The visionary mountain has appeared on the covers of the albums ... and the Circus Leaves Town and Muchas Gracias: Kyuss's The Best of Kyuss, also appears in the movie Into the Wild - In the wilds.
