Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge is a bridge in Zhangjiajie, China, above the Wulingyuan area. The bridge, built as an attraction for tourists, has a transparent background and is transparent. When it was opened, it was the longest and tallest glass bridge in the world. The bridge, open to the public on August 20, 2016, measures 430 meters in total length and 6 meters wide, and is suspended about 300 meters from the ground.
The bridge crosses the canyon between two mountain cliffs in the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, in central China's Hunan province. It is designed to carry up to 800 visitors at a time. The bridge was designed by Israeli architect Haim Dotan. To build the bridge, the engineers erected 4 supporting pillars on the edges of the canyon walls.
The bridge is made of a metal structure with over 120 glass panels. Each of these panels is 3-layer and is a 2-inch thick tempered glass sheet. There are 3 long swings attached to the lower part of the bridge. There is also a provision for bungee jumping from 285 meters. This is considered the highest jump in the world.
