The Garden City of Rome is in an area of the Monte Sacro district in the III Municipio.
When in 1919 the first residential nucleus began to arise through an initiative of a committee of the State Railways, an attempt was made to follow an English building model that envisaged making citizens a less uncomfortable life.
The construction was commissioned to the Aniene City-Garden Consortium based on a project by Gustavo Giovannoni, but the conception of the new district is due to Alberto Calza Bini and Filippo Cremonesi.
