The Cagliari Fair (Fiera di Cagliari) area is located in Viale Armando Diaz 211, with the possibility of entry also from Piazza Marco Polo.
Every year it welcomes thousands of visitors from all over Sardinia, and hundreds of sellers from various parts of the world.
In addition to the pavilions, some of which are interesting works of modern architecture (such as a pavilion by Adalberto Libera), there is a large outdoor area where during the fair the amusement park goes beyond a part of the vendors, while in summer the big events.
With the festival of sant'Efisio (1st-4th May) every year in Cagliari up to a fair of years ago a fair is held in the Stampace district that attracts many Cagliari. Collaterally other such exhibitions were also born in Cagliari.
A commodity exhibition took place in 1840, in February 1847 a public exhibition of objects of art and national industry was held, dubbed in 1871.
In 1901, 1904, 1905 and 1907, trade fairs were held, hosted in Piazza del Carmine.
Over the years the Sardinian spring was conceived, an event that was held for a few springs in Cagliari from 1929.
In an atmosphere of poverty, but also of the desire to be reborn from the destruction of the bombings of 1943, in 1948 the 1st edition of the Sardinia fair was held, based in the premises of the covered promenade of the bastion of Saint Remy; there were 55,000 visitors.
The second edition of the fair is hosted in the premises of the Massimo theater in Cagliari and the newly created garden arena.
A very young Giulio Andreotti, a deputy at the time, was also visiting this edition. The protagonist of the event was asbestos cement, with which the open stalls of the garden arena were covered, a symbol of the rebirth of Cagliari and Sardinia.
This edition attracted more than 80,000 visitors, marking the future of the event.
