Antiquarium of Canne - Archaeological Park of Canne della Battaglia

The Antiquarium of Canne is located in Canne della Battaglia near the citadel of the same name along the SP 142, in the territory of the city of Barletta, a few meters from the Canne della Battaglia station.

Since December 2014, the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities has been managing it through the Apulia Museum Complex, which in December 2019 became the Regional Directorate for Museums.

The Antiquarium precedes the visit of the medieval citadel, at the top of the hill under which the battle between the Carthaginians and the Romans took place.

Inaugurated on 21 April 1958, in the presence of the Minister of Education Aldo Moro and the mayor Giuseppe Palmitessa, the museum documents human settlements in the territory from prehistoric, classical, Apulian-Greek and medieval times.
