The National Archaeological Museum of Crotone, open to the public since 1968, is one of the most important in Calabria.
The building, designed by the architect Franco Minissi, is located on one of the bastions of the sixteenth-century city walls, near the Castle of Charles V, in the historic heart of the town.
In its most recent exhibition, inaugurated in 2000, the Museum offers an exhibition itinerary, on two floors with large open space halls.
On the ground floor the visitor is guided in chronological order to discover the main historical stages of the ancient Greek city of Kroton, starting from the relations it had with the indigenous communities that existed until late antiquity.
