The Milan Triennale - Palace of Art

The Milan Triennale housed in the Palace of Art, is an international cultural institution that produces exhibitions, conferences and events on art, design, architecture, fashion, cinema, communication and society.

It organizes exhibitions of great visibility and attention such as those dedicated to contemporary art, to architects and designers of national and international fame, to great stylists who have changed taste and customs, to social issues.

Since 2007 it has been the seat of the Triennale Design Museum, a changing museum, attentive to the history and to the entire design system (businesses, production districts, territory, research, publishing and training).

Since 2011 it has hosted the Teatro dell'Arte, one of the most significant on the Milanese scene, a new point of reference for cultural projects and performing arts.

The Triennale di Milano was founded in Monza in 1923 on the occasion of the 1st Biennial of decorative arts of the ISIA by Guido Marangoni.

The exhibition was then transferred to Milan in 1933, when the construction of the Palazzo dell'Arte by Giovanni Muzio was completed, thanks to the will and financing of the textile industrialist Antonio Bernocchi.

The innovative role of the exhibition has been manifested since the first exhibitions, so much so that already in the 1933 edition artists such as Giorgio De Chirico, Mario Sironi, Massimo Campigli and Carlo Carrà participated in it exhibiting their works.
