Civic Art Gallery

Inaugurated in 1989 in the seventeenth-century Palazzo Volpi, the Pinacoteca preserves the pictorial and sculptural works of the city. The collection, which goes from the Middle Ages to the contemporary, was formed through bequests, donations, purchases and documents the art of the territory starting from religious buildings, passing through portraiture, landscape, genre painting, up to twentieth-century research linked to futurism, rationalism and design.

Fulcrum of the collections, the sixteenth-century collection of portraits of Illustrious Men by Paolo Giovio, the drawings of the futurist architect Antonio Sant'Elia and some of the most significant works of the Como Group, the Como abstractionists of the twentieth century.
