Mulino di Mora Bassa - Ecomuseum of the Roggia Mora

In 1494 Ludovico Maria Sforza known as il Moro offered his wife Beatrice D’Este a very special gift: the Mora Bassa Mill in Vigevano.

In Leonardo Da Vinci's manuscript H, mainly dedicated to the study of water, the name of Vigevano appears several times. For example, the notes concern a «mill from Vigevine».

At the mill the visitor finds himself immersed in a suggestive place full of interesting references to history and legend: the Duke Ludovico known as il Moro met, far from the ducal court, the young lady Cecilia Gallerani, model of Leonardo Da Vinci for the famous painting "La lady with an ermine ".

Today property of the EST-SESIA irrigation association, after being restored in 2000, in the large garden it houses a laboratory-path for the study of irrigation water measurement systems.

Inside the mill the association LA CITTA 'IDEALE has set up a permanent exhibition of working MACHINES BY LEONARDO DA VINCI thanks to Dario Noè who, with the study of manuscript drawings, craftsmanship, ingenuity and passion has built about 50 machines and more he is making some.

The exhibition gives the visitor the opportunity not only to observe the models but above all to be able to TOUCH them and put them into operation, satisfying the curiosity of adults and children.

The LA CITTA 'IDEALE association organizes: guided tours, events, workshops for school groups, conferences, etc.
