The Temo is a river that flows in Sardinia, in the provinces of Sassari and Oristano. It is the only navigable river (about 6 km) in the region.
It was born at about 500 m a.s.l. from the slopes of Mount Calarighe, in the municipality of Villanova Monteleone in the province of Sassari. With the name of Rio Lacanu it flows towards the Temo lake, where it changes its name to Temo. Subsequently, shortly after passing through the town of Bosa it flows into the Sardinian sea.
The Temo has a very variable flow rate before it enters the homonymous lake; from that point on, the annual outflow becomes much more regular.
