The free thermal baths of Bormio are named after the great Leonardo da Vinci, who left testimony of his visit in his works, immortalizing the name of the famous spa resort in the famous Atlantic Codex.
Leonardo was sent to Valtellina by the Duke of Milan Ludovico il Moro, for an inspection that was to be functional to the hydraulic regulation of the Adda basin.
The free baths of Bormio are located a short distance from the Stelvio Park and consist of basins that collect excess water from the Bagni Vecchi and Bagni Nuovi establishments.
