The Langhe are a territory of Piedmont located between the provinces of Cuneo and Asti, bordering on the Astesana, Monferrato and Roero. They consist of an extensive hilly system, defined by the rivers Tànaro, Belbo, Bòrmida di Millesimo and Bòrmida di Spigno.
On 22 June 2014, during the 38th session of the UNESCO committee in Doha, the Langhe were officially included, together with Roero and Monferrato, in the list of World Heritage properties.
In the highest area, the Scots pine (commercially known as the Pine of Scotland or Sweden), an authentic "living fossil" of the vegetation of the last glacial period, survives in increasingly smaller numbers. In the lower Langhe it has a Po climate, temperate in the maximum temperatures on the hills. In the Alba plain, maximum summer temperatures above 30 ° are not uncommon. In the upper part of the Langhe the climate can be defined as Apennine, with Padan influences.
