A monumental building rich in history, charm and legends built from the sixteenth century by Pio Enea I degli Obizzi at Battaglia Terme (Padua); the Catajo is a unique dwelling of a kind that over time has been the princely villa and military accommodation, literary circle and imperial palace.

The Catajo Castle was born to celebrate the splendor of the Obizzi, expanded by the same family in the '600 and' 700 and was later transformed into a ducal palace by the Asburgo-Este family of Modena and finally elected imperial residence of the Habsburgs emperors of Austria.
