The Academy of Egypt in Rome, like a corner of Egyptian land in the heart of Rome, a place where the Italian public can confront the Ancient Egyptian civilization up to contemporary artistic expressions, participating in a very rich cultural panorama, which, like a mirror, it gives us the image of a country whose lively culture is always in turmoil.
Concerts, film reviews, art exhibitions, teaching for children, are just some of the activities proposed with the aim of encouraging comparison and cultural exchange.
The Academy also houses the Museum and the Library.
Inside the Egyptian Museum there are unique and non-replicable reproductions of the grave goods belonging to the Tomb of Tutankhamun
Today the Library has a documentary heritage of over 10,000 volumes. The largest part is made up of art monographs, which serve as a support for the Academy's teaching and research activities.
There are texts on Western culture, but also texts in Arabic; great encyclopedias such as the Encyclopedia Treccani, the Britannica and the Grolier, catalogs of museums and texts on art, literature, theater, cinema and archeology.
