Bromo is an active pyroclastic cone of Indonesia forming part of the Tengger caldera on the island of Java. Its summit is located at 2392 meters above sea level The volcano is included in the territory of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.
The last eruption dates back to November 26th 2011. The name derives from the Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the creator god of Hinduism.
