Fortunago (Fortünagh in the Oltrepò dialect) is an Italian town of 370 inhabitants in the province of Pavia in Lombardy. Located in the Oltrepò, on the hills that divide the valleys of the Coppa and Ardivestra, it is part of the club of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
Known since the tenth century, Fortunago had local lords, vassals of the bishop of Tortona, but in 1164 it became part of the territory subject to the city of Pavia. In the 14th century it was a fief of the Giorgi Pavese family (this fief also included Borgoratto); instead the current fractions Gravanago and Sant'Eusebio were common, belonging to the local Ruino family, still vassal of the bishop of Tortona.
info: It is part of the hilly area of the Comunità Montana Oltrepò Pavese.
