Wat Samphran Dragon Temple

Wat Samphran is a Buddhist temple (wat) in Amphoe Sam Phran, in the province of Nakhon Pathom, about 40 kilometers west of Bangkok. The temple was officially registered in 1985.

The temple is notable for its tall 17-storey cylindrical building with a giant dragon sculpture curling along its entire length.

The inside of the dragon sculpture contains a staircase, which however has deteriorated in poor condition in some places. It also contains a huge buddha statue and many other Buddhist statues.

info: The temple clergy was involved in a scandal of sexual misconduct which led to long prison sentences in 2004.
