Genoa Aquarium - Virtual Tour 360°

The Aquarium of Genoa is a place of extraordinary interest.

Located in the Porto Antico designed by Renzo Piano, it consists of 48 tanks, which contain about 500 species of fish, both Mediterranean and oceanic.

The interior was designed by the architect Peter Chermayeff.

At the time of its inauguration it was the largest in Europe and the second in the world.

It was subsequently expanded several times.

Owned by Porto Antico di Genova S.p.A. and managed by the company Costa Edutainment S.p.A., it was inaugurated in 1992 on the occasion of the Colombiadi, that is the Expo celebrating the five hundredth anniversary of the European discovery of America.

Once a month, the Aquarium of Genoa offers the "Night with the Sharks", offering a maximum of 35 children per night (aged between 7 and 18 years) to sleep in front of the shark tank, passing a whole night inside the aquarium, to find out all about the nocturnal behavior of its inhabitants.
