With the advent of private television and videocassettes, cinema in Italy is experiencing a period of crisis which also affects the Jolly.
However, the room is renovated and adapted to new technologies, with the installation of a Dolby Surround audio system and new seats.

The 2000s and 2010s:

In the 2000s, the Jolly stood out for its arthouse programming, offering the public auteur films and films from all over the world.
It becomes a point of reference for Ravenna cinephiles and a meeting place for lovers of the seventh art.

Closing and reopening:

In 2011, due to a dispute between the owners and the management, the Jolly was forced to close its doors.
The closure of the cinema causes great dismay among the citizens of Ravenna, who mobilize to save it.
Thanks to the commitment of a citizens' committee and the intervention of the Municipality of Ravenna, the Jolly reopens its doors in 2012.

The Joker today:

Today, Cinema Jolly is a consolidated reality in the cultural panorama of Ravenna.
With its quality programming, which ranges from arthouse films to independent cinema, it continues to be a point of reference for cinephiles and a meeting place for the community.
