Gianni Caproni Aeronautics Museum


The Gianni Caproni Aeronautical Museum is an aeronautical museum located in Trento, Italy.

It was founded in 1927 by Gianni Caproni, a pioneer of Italian aviation. The museum houses a large collection of aircraft, aircraft engines and other aviation memorabilia.

Some of the museum's most notable attractions include:

The Caproni Ca.1, the first aircraft designed and built by Caproni
The Caproni Ca.33, a heavy bomber used during the First World War
The Caproni Ca.60 Noviplano, a transatlantic transport aircraft with nine wings
The Caproni Ca.161, a World War II jet fighter
A collection of aeronautical engines, including a Fiat A.14, the first Italian aeronautical engine


The museum also houses a library and a historical archive with a large collection of documents and photographs relating to Italian aviation.

The Re.2005 exhibited at the Gianni Caproni Aeronautics Museum, of which only the fuselage and fin have survived, is the only aircraft of this type to have come down to us.
