Basilica of Sant'Apollinare in RomeThe Basilica of Sant'Apollinare in Rome is a minor Catholic basilica located in the Ponte district, between Piazza Navona and Palazzo Altemps.
The basilica is dedicated to Saint Apollinare of Ravenna, whose body is preserved in the crypt.
The basilica was built in the 6th century on the site of Nero's baths. It was rebuilt in the 9th century and again in the 17th century. The current façade is in Baroque style and has a portal with a tympanum and two niches with statues of saints. The interior of the basilica has three naves, with pillars and round arches. The central nave is covered by a coffered ceiling, while the side naves are covered by cross vaults.
