The Museum of Navigation in Internal Waters (MNAI) housed in the Former Farnesian Stables is an archaeological/anthropological museum owned by the Municipality of Capodimonte (Viterbo).
The Museum was created to exhibit the Bronze Age monossian pirogue, recovered from Lake Bolsena, near the Bisentina Island, in 1989.
The pirogue, made from a single beech trunk, 6.16 m long, is probably a rare example of a double pirogue, unique in Lazio, as suggested by the two appendages, originally perforated.
The monoxile pirogue has been dated between the end of the Middle Bronze Age and the Final Bronze Age (1365-1020 BC).
