The MAF Acqua Franca Museum is housed in the Milan San Rocco purification plant.
The MAF investigates the different forms and expressions of contemporary art within a purification plant: in this context, art has the ability to convey a strong language, unite the public and encourage the active participation of citizens, giving impetus to changes positive in areas such as environmental protection, energy consumption, waste reduction and treatment.
At the Acqua Franca Museum it was decided to give artists the possibility of regaining their freedom of expression and experimentation, without having to take into account fashions and market rules.
