The Genovese Palace is located in the historic center of Salerno, in Largo Sedile del Campo.
It is one of the most important stately buildings in the city, the first early work of the Neapolitan architect Mario Gioffredo.
Work began in 1744 and in August 1745 the portal was under construction, which had to correspond to the clay model approved by the customer.
The building suffered considerable damage during the Allied landing (Salerno Landing) in September 1943, when it was used as a middle school, and remained abandoned for a long time.

It was restored in 1994 and since then part of the ground floor has been used for shows and exhibitions.
