The Tuscia Ceramics Museum is located in the center of the city of Viterbo, housed on the ground floor, in the premises owned by the Carivit Foundation, of the sixteenth-century Brugiotti Palace, a splendid example of post-Renaissance architecture.
Open to the public since 1996 on the initiative of the Carivit Foundation and the Municipality of Viterbo, the Museum is housed in the rooms on the ground floor of "Palazzo Brugiotti".
The collection on display is of about 400 finds and reconstructs the evolutionary path of the various types of ceramics produced in Upper Lazio from the thirteenth to the nineteenth century.
The most represented section is the medieval one, in which we can distinguish the simple impasto ceramics, painted under the display case, the archaic earthenware in manganese brown and copper green, the saffron and the green in relief.
The collection is completed by the sections dedicated to Renaissance ceramics, the apothecary and the small collection of the ancient Pharmacy of the Great Hospital of the Infirm of Viterbo from the 16th-17th centuries.
