Maison Laviniaturra is the Atelier of the Bolognese fashion designer Lavinia Turra, it also hosts art exhibitions.

The atelier is located inside a charming 1950s villa overlooking the Margherita Gardens.

The objective of the exhibitions-events created in the Maison Laviniaturra is to create a meeting place where different but synaesthetic worlds can be brought together: art in its various forms and fashion as an expression of high craftsmanship, a word that the designer loves. to describe the work of those who use their hands to create something unique, like a dress; because fashion design must never be a closed world, but always a world of continuous solicitations, influences and fascinations.

The designer, who has dressed important names in the show business, such as Isabella Ferrari and Jodie Foster, in addition to giving life to her well-known prêt-à-couture collections, often creates conceptual image settings that reflect her inspiration.

LAVINIA TURRA

Born in Bologna, raised among women who cut and sewed, as a child she attended ancient tailors and learned the love for this job.

Her profession was born and grew with the use of her hands, which know and use not only colors and pencils, but above all fabrics and fabrics, using scissors, needle and thread. You arrive at this work through an attraction and a long road of "connivance" and "complicity" linked to art, painting, theater.

Curious by nature, the personal relationship and listening to her are the basis of her way of "dressing" because the dress "must represent the woman and not disguise her".

In 2017 she founded Maison laviniaturra, feeling the need for a space that not only offers but welcomes, as only a "home" can do.

The opening of the Maison also coincides with the beginning of her creative collaboration with her daughter Cecilia Torsello, renewal and fresh energy of the brand.
