Museum Winterline Venafro - Virtual Tour 360°

On 15 March 2008, on the occasion of the commemoration ceremony for the victims of 15 March 1944, the permanent exhibition centered on finds of historical interest regarding the Second World War, called "Winterline".

An unprecedented initiative, entirely the result of the passion and self-denial of young professionals such as Luciano Bucci, Renato Dolcigno, Donato Pasquale.

The Winterline Venafro Museum is a reality, one of a kind due to the peculiarities of its construction.

The founding members are joined by other enthusiasts such as Domenico Vecchiarino, Rosario Malfatti and Andrea Ottaviano in order to achieve what, according to all visitors, goes beyond the simple "collection of objects", its setting, in fact, is a real and a journey through time and in the places of the Second World War in Venafro and its surroundings.

The displays, in fact, without neglecting the possibility of seeing all the original objects recovered by the members of the association in over thirty years of research on display, are created to show the various phases of the Allied advance along the Winterline.

Inside, each scene follows a precise chronological and geographical order that tells the story and the territory, starting from November 1943 on the Volturno river until the breakthrough of the Winterline, 1944, on the Mainarde; the whole is enriched by photos of the time that portray the places involved and tell the events that took place.

The visitor, therefore, can appreciate either the collectible value of the exhibition, in fact over 30 fully equipped mannequins are exhibited and there is no lack of rare objects of historical and collectible significance, or he can appreciate the historical narration of the facts that derives from the guided tour of the inside the Museum, without neglecting particular anecdotes that the members of the Association have directly learned from the stories of the veterans; therefore this museum, suitable for every age group and every type of visitor, is strongly recommended for those who want to know, through direct vision, the facts, the places and also the people who have characterized the Winterline area.

In addition, the decades-long experience of the battlefields and historical events that took place in the area, has meant that the Winterline Venafro Association was recognized by foreign bodies, governmental and non-governmental, as a point of reference for the maintenance of memory.
