Mirko Variato Oasis

The Mirko Variato Oasis is a private green area, falling within the "Lama San Giorgio e Giotta" Regional Park in the Triggiano area.

Born after a regeneration that began in June 2016, after the entire area had been used in the previous decades, as a landfill for inert materials and waste of all kinds.

In addition to the restoration of the dry stone walls, the outflow of rainwater was guaranteed, which in the event of heavy rainfall form an evocative ephemeral stream.

It has been planted with more than 30 native plant species to restore the original ecosystem, just to name a few: Downy Oak, Thorny Oak, Certo, Hawthorn, Juniper, Holm oak, Carob, Strawberry Tree, Myrtle, Laurel, Helichrysum ... and much other!
