Villa Tadini Buoninsegni owes its origins to Lorenzo De Medici who had it built at the end of the 15th century for holidays spent between hunting and erudite encounters with guests such as Poliziano and Pulci.
The marriage of his daughter Maddalena and Francesco Cybo Malaspina determines the passage of Agnano in the properties of the new family and at the beginning of the 16th century the villa was renovated taking the U-shape in Renaissance style with an Italian garden divided by two orthogonal axes, tree-lined and equipped with a rectangular fish pond according to a design attributed to Giovan Battista da Sangallo.
With the last descendant of the Cybo, Maria Beatrice d'Este, Duchess of Modena and wife of the Archduke of Austria Ferdinand of Habsburg Lorraine, the estate merges into the heritage of the Austrian imperial house and has a new renovation by Maximilian Hahn who also created the romantic English park, with thick vegetation of lime trees, cedars of Lebanon, acacias, magnolias, groves of camellias, grassy open spaces and winding paths. Later the nineteenth-century aviary from the Boboli Gardens in Florence was placed here, originally commissioned by King Vittorio Emanuele II.
Finally Oscar Tobler buys the possessions of Agnano, the estate of Calci and vast lands in Asciano, all for the sum of two million gold lire, which become known as a farm and for the many activities not only agricultural, but also industrial and commercial. internationally.
Following the union of his daughter Anna with Count Mario Tadini Buoninsegni, the ancient residence takes the name of Villa Tadini and still belongs to the same family.
Since 2008 Villa Tadini is the seat of the Cultural Artistic Promotion Association Who wants to be happy to be ... and of the homonymous Festival of Music and Various Arts inspired by the evocative setting, in which music is intertwined with other arts, leading to ever new collaborations for a work of contextualization that does not want to be an end in itself, but which has as its ultimate purpose the involvement of a large and heterogeneous part of the community and the restitution to its enjoyment of unique and unrepeatable historical, architectural and naturalistic assets for the promotion of territory and its resources.
