Pulsating Lung - Cultural Salon

The place historically referred to as the Pulmonary Button is a Cultural Salon (ROMA, Italy) founded in 1976 by Saverio Ungheri with his wife Teresa Nasso. The center is still active without betraying the approach of the time.

Over the years great characters have animated him, such as Carlo Lizzani, Liliana De Curtis (daughter of Totò), Dacia Maraini, Emma Bonino and many others. The Pulsating Lung has the patronage of Rome Capital City Hall I and collaborations with St John's University in New York, with the Art Pur Art Gallery of Mons.

Many curators and artists animated the artistic themed evenings. The seat is in the ancient Suburra district, in front of the Trajan Markets, and its underground areas include a path that, through vaulted rooms, blind stairways, Roman arches, leads to the "Sala del Pozzo" which was in ancient times the " Church of San Salvatore delle Milizie”.

These environments were recovered by Saverio Ungheri with an archaeological restoration which, after centuries of neglect, projects them into a new communicative reality characterized by the presence of kinetic sculptures in metal and plastic in a very original association between archived cultures and today's cultures in the phase of continuous research.
