The Museum and its history Like many others, the Piana delle Orme Museum also originated from a private collection, that of Mariano De Pasquale, a floricultural entrepreneur who in the course of his life has collected a large quantity of objects, tools and machinery of all types and sizes.

It is mostly the material evidence that populated the daily life of our countryside, but also means that appeared for the first time during the war period.

More than a museum, it deals with a set of museums, which, linked by the thread of a story that focuses on the history of the twentieth century, each illustrate a theme.

The visit The pavilions that house the collection are dedicated to the following themes: Vintage toy; Reclamation of the Pontine Marshes, Vintage Agricultural Vehicles, Life in the Fields, Period War Means.

The duration of the visit is approximately 4 hours.

For organized groups a tourist guide is available on request and by reservation only.

Each pavilion is equipped with didactic panels and audio guides, also in English and German, which explain and illustrate the route.

Given the typology of its collections, the path of Piana delle Orme has been divided into two main sectors and the two sectors are: the Agricultural Sector and the War Sector.

“So many stories in one story” therefore, in an unforgettable and poignant journey, which leaves room for surprise, emotion and amazement.

The particular scenographic set-up, organized in dioramas on a 1: 1 scale and, deliberately, without barriers between the exhibits and the visitor, gives the sensation of participating "live" in the documented events.

For this reason, Piana delle Orme is a non-trivial museum, far from traditional forms, capable not only of surprising and exciting, but also, and above all, of communicating its contents clearly.

Ideal for introducing the story to children as well.
