The existing works range over the centuries from the Middle Ages to the present day, with a rich section dedicated to contemporary art.
Do not miss some important foreign works, including Italian paintings, a self-portrait by Rembrandt and paintings by Degas, Cézanne, Poussin, Monet, Rubens, Murillo.
Among his works from the 1600s there is a sculpture by Bansky, a reproduction with a "pixilated" face of a bust of a cardinal used by the English graffiti artist as a complaint against the pedophilia scandal in the English church.
The museum is famous for its large collection of Pre-Raphaelites.
