Fazzari Palace

Palazzo Fazzari is a palace located along the Corso di Catanzaro. It was purchased by the entrepreneur and politician Achille Fazzari, a native of Stalettì, on August 31, 1870. The choice to purchase was dictated by the desire to own a residence of a certain importance in the heart of the city, to highlight his prestige as a man of a a certain social level and, also, because it was closer to the seat of bureaucratic power whose buildings were located on the Porta di Mare - Piazza Grimaldi road axis.

For the construction, a Florentine architect was chosen due to the presence in the city of the engineer Giacomo Romoli, sent from Florence immediately after the unit.

The building has three facades, the main one on Corso Mazzini, characterized by a high rustic ashlar base in Stalettì diorite which includes the first floor, and the two upper floors, sloping in height, with regular ashlars of the same material and ends with a projecting roof on shaped wooden brackets.

The building, in the facade, shows the typical characters of the early Florentine Renaissance.
