The largest cinema museum in the world was inaugurated on the last day of September of 2021.
About 28,000 square meters of exhibition space unfold in a building designed by Renzo Piano, who converted a historic 1930s warehouse into the temple of the Oscars, adding a spectacular volume in glass and concrete in the shape of a sphere to the architecture.
The purpose of Piano's work is to create an organic body that conceives parts linked together by history and paths. The galleries and exhibition spaces are located on the six levels above the caplestio floor of the Saban Building (the presence incorporated by the museum).
Inside, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions and a permanent collection dedicated to the seventh art, with videos, posters, period photographs, costumes and props, special collections related to cinema legends, such as Alfred Hitchock or Cary Grant.
In addition to the David Geffen Theater, a 1000-seat cinema hall, and the 288-seat Ted Mann Theater.
