Brooklands Museum




Formally opened in 1991, the museum is operated by independent Brooklands Museum Trust Ltd, a limited liability company (# 02109945) and a UK registered charity.

Its purpose is to conserve, protect and interpret the Brooklands site's unique heritage.

Brooklands Museum is a motoring and aviation museum which occupies part of the former Brooklands motor racing circuit in Weybridge, Surrey, England.

 

The museum is located on 12 acres of the original 1907 motor racing circuit. It comprises four listed buildings: the buildings of the 1907 Brooklands Automobile Racing Club Clubhouse and Members' Hill Restaurant, the 1911 air ticket office and a 1940 bellman aircraft hangar. Campbell circuit from 1937, the finish straight from 1907 and the member banks (the steepest section of the former racing circuit), Test Hill from 1909 and a Bofors «Cannon towers are all important parts of the Brooklands Monument scheduled which was expanded in 2002.

The entire Brooklands site was designated as a conservation area by the Surrey County Council in 1989.
