The museum was created on the initiative of the Branca Family who wanted to collect and preserve objects, collectible documentation, as well as provide the company with a place for cultural activities.
The Branca Collection is not only a business museum that looks at past history but it is also a space where the object takes on a double meaning: it is historical documentation of a production system, as well as of communication and organizational conception.
The Collection is set up in the Milan industrial complex and occupies over 1000 square meters.
It is the result of more than 10 years of work, in which all the active subjects of the company have been involved, from the selection of materials, to the restoration of objects (carried out internally by the workers themselves), up to the final set-up.
The aroma of Fernet-Branca pervades the museum, which opens with the paintings and sculptures depicting the founders.
Therefore, in a long corridor the production cycle of an industrial reality born in 1845 is partially represented.
To highlight the different production areas, a beautiful "herbalist" area has been set up, the chemical laboratory for the quality and analysis of herbs. the carpentry, an office.
On the walls you can admire, among other things, some calendars made from 1886 to 1913 and some of the many promotional posters.
In the Branca Museum, visitors have the opportunity to retrace the history of an industrial reality but also of an era, through avant-garde communication: paintings, documents, drawings, sketches, objects, photographs follow one another alongside a rich and curious merchandising showcase from ashtrays to tasting glasses, from small suitcases used as gift boxes to historical bottles to continue with calendars, posters and advertisements.
A century and a half of business communication, from the pavilions in the first international exhibitions (Milan 1906, Turin 1911) to black and white images that reflect the customs and habits of those who frequented the bars of the time, up to the Caroselli and advertising of the 60s and 80s.
