Beautiful Gallery - Interactive Museum

It's hard to describe what Bologna Beautiful Gallery is exactly.

An enchanted, evocative and colorful place, where everyone can go back to being a little child and indulge in what they do best now: taking photos with their mobile phones and posting!

Beautiful Gallery is the headquarters of the Beautiful Artistic Collective of Bologna, which a few months ago transformed its headquarters into this not really canonical art gallery: the spaces, in fact, are dedicated to design but above all to entertainment. In the various rooms there are real backdrops designed to act as a photographic background: striped rooms, others covered with mirrors, rooms where walls and furnishings are all pink.

There is no shortage of even more “interactive” spaces, made to be explored by visitors: a swimming pool full of balloons, a space for throwing confetti, a bathtub in which to splash around among turquoise balls. These are places or activities that we all imagined in childhood and that Beautiful Gallery finally makes possible, fulfilling the dreams of many children who have now become adults.

In the path that develops over about 1000 square meters, we find more successful rooms and others less so; in addition, the lighting leaves a lot to be desired for a place dedicated to photography. It is not, therefore, a real exhibition, but a sequence of fairytale places conceived to become the background of our next profile photo. However, it is a unique place of its kind, where you can spend a pleasant hour among icicles and giant rabbits, graffiti and retro video games.

Beautiful Gallery is an “interactive fun-house” in the center of Bologna, the first in Europe. It is the experience of a world that does not exist, the place of dreams to free the imagination.

It winds along a path between 15 rooms whose common denominator is the color palette: salmon pink, yellow, aqua green, light blue, blue, lilac, red, white and black.

I ask forgiveness from now on for the definitions of colors, they would surely have been able to name them with more correct Pantone codes: the boys of the Beautiful Collective, a cultural association for the promotion of art that for a few months gave life to the Beautiful Gallery and established here the its headquarters.
