Tokyo National Center of Arts Museum




The Tokyo National Center of Arts is a modern art museum located in Tokyo and founded in 2007. The museum was inaugurated on January 21, 2007 and was born from a project of the agency for cultural affairs and the independent administrative institution: on the site where the structure was previously located there was the headquarters of a research center of the University of Tokyo.

The museum was designed by the architect Kisha Kurokawa and has an area of about 50,000 square meters, arranged on four levels: inside it houses a collection of about 600 pieces, concentrated in particular on 20th century paintings and modern art.
