The Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art is a multifunctional center located in Prato whose purpose is the museum activities of collection, conservation and enhancement of contemporary works of art, information, teaching and documentation services, the organization of exhibitions exhibitions, reviews, events. The Center is recognized as having the public function of coordinating the regional system of contemporary art.
In 2016, the Pecci Center reopened after the completion of the expansion designed by the architect Maurice Nio and the renovation of the original building designed by the rationalist architect Italo Gamberini.
Today the complex houses, in addition to more than 3,000 m² of exhibition halls, the CID/Visual Arts specialized archive and library, which has around 60,000 volumes, the cinema-auditorium, the bookshop, the restaurant and the bistro and open-air theatre.
