The Capitular Museum of Atri is one of the oldest in Abruzzo (Province of Teramo) founded in 1912 and is located behind the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta.
It was commissioned by Monsignor Raffaele Tini and was enriched over time by substantial donations (such as that of ceramics by the Bindi family).
It collects works ranging from the thirteenth to the twentieth century from the city.
The museum is housed in the rooms on the upper floor of the Benedictine cloister of a 12th century monastery, which in the 15th century became the residence of the canons of the cathedral and episcopal cemetery.
It includes ten rooms in addition to the cloister and the crypt.
