Study Gallery Romanelli in Florence

Five generations of Romanelli sculptors have crossed the large wooden door that gives access to the Study Gallery Romanelli in Florence: Pasquale Romanelli, his son Raffaello and his nephew Romano, then Folco Romanelli and today Raffaello and Vincenzo Romanelli.

The atelier is a hidden gem in the characteristic Oltrarno district, the true heart of Florentine craftsmanship.
The building's first use was a church built in the 16th century and transformed into a sculpture studio by Lorenzo Bartolini in the early 19th century.

He took advantage of the large spaces and heights of the building to work on his most majestic monuments. The space still houses ancient work tools, such as the rotating square pedestal in the center of the room, on which the great monuments were sculpted. On the north and south walls, two ram heads face each other, winches used to lift the heaviest statues to the upper floors. The entire space houses hundreds of original plaster casts, part of the family's large collection, which can be reproduced on commission, in plaster, resin, bronze or marble.

Raffaello Romanelli personally takes care of every phase of the production process of a work, following the age-old techniques and teachings of working with plaster, marble and bronze. At the Romanelli Gallery the customer can find a wide choice of historical models or new creations: high quality replicas of classical, neoclassical, modern and contemporary sculptures and above all original models by Romanelli artists, unavailable elsewhere, reproducible in plaster, bronze or marble.

All types of animals are also created with absolute mastery and precision, which have always represented, for the Romanelli generations, an excellent source of inspiration for their different shapes and characteristics. The attention to detail in every phase of processing ensures maximum fidelity to the original with excellent quality results.
