The Civic Archaeological Museum was established in Canosa di Puglia in 1934 and located in the nineteenth-century Casieri Palace.
Since 1994, the Archaeological Museum has been National following an agreement between the then Ministry for Cultural and Environmental Heritage and the Canosina Archaeological Foundation, the Museum is housed in a building dating back to the 19th century, Sinesi Palace. The building, initially intended as a deposit for finds from the urban area and the territory of Canosa and as a venue for temporary exhibitions, since 2015, with the establishment of the Polo Museale, has become the seat of the National Archaeological Museum.
The current exhibition, renewed in 2018, illustrates with signs and didactic apparatus in Italian and English, a cross-section of Canosine society between the Archaic and Hellenistic ages, one of the most important moments in the millenary history of the city.
