The Earth Sciences Museum of La Sapienza University in Rome is a modern institution dedicated to the Earth Sciences, consolidating the existing and independent Museums of Geology, Mineralogy, and Paleontology.
Since 1804, these three museums have collected and archived over 34,000 mineral specimens, 3,000 geological samples, and 7,000 paleontological artifacts, alongside books, maps, and historic scientific instruments.
Given that many of these specimens are unique in Italy and globally, valued for their historical significance, economic worth, and rarity, they are admired, researched, and sought after both nationally and internationally.
The new museum will span over an area of > 4,100 square meters, encompassing spaces dedicated to exhibits (both temporary and permanent), laboratories, offices, storage facilities, and services (such as libraries, restrooms, disabled access, and conference rooms).
