The Giuseppe Andreassi National Archaeological Museum and Archaeological Park of Egnazia is located outside the walls of the ancient city of Egnazia, today an archaeological site, in the area of the Messapian necropolis, near Fasano. Since December 2014, the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities has managed it through the Puglia Museum Complex, which in December 2019 became the Regional Directorate of Museums.
Consisting of eleven luminous pavilions articulated around two patios, it currently houses three different permanent exhibitions; the first Documents of the Bronze Age on the settlements developed in the Bronze Age along the Adriatic coast of Puglia, many of which had commercial contacts with the Greek world; the second on Egnatia and its history (the beautiful marble head of the god Attis and the mosaic of the Graces are noteworthy); the third, Global Archeology in Egnazia, created in collaboration with the University of Bari, underlines the relationship between archeology and other scientific disciplines.
