Presidential Palace Warsaw

Construction of the palace began in 1643, by Ermano Stanisaw Koniecpolski. The first name of the building was "Paac Koniecpolskich", but the latter was not completed during the life of the landowner, in fact he died in 1646 in his residence in Brody. The architect of the building was Costante Tencalla, architect at the Polish court, who also designed the Sigismund's Column. In 1674 the building became, for 144 years, the property of the Radziwiaa‚ family

In 1818 the palace became the seat of the viceroy of the Kingdom of Congress From 1818 the palace was rebuilt in a neoclassical style, by the architect Chrystian Piotr Aigner (1756–1841), extending the building, creating a grand staircase between the main body and the north wing, remodeling the main facade, and redecorating the rooms on the first and second floors.
