The Breno Castle rises on a hill in the center of the town of Breno. The walls of the castle contain an area of 0.525 hectares, about 120 meters in altitude from the town.At the recent discovery, splinters of selchoice have been dated to the Epigravettian, shortly after the melting of the glacier in Val Camonica.
Below the Ghibelline tower, the remains of a Neolithic house were found, with a trapezoidal shape, 5 meters wide, resting on lateral rock pillows. The walls were in mud-plastered gratings: a typical way of building walls in Val Camonica until a few decades ago. Nearby were found artifacts such as tools, vases and two tombs, which scholars culture of Breno.
