This museum, opened on 2 July 2011, takes its name from the Tibetan ri, which means mountain, and pa, which means man, thus proposing to dedicate itself to the peoples of the mountain: this venue is offered as a place of meeting and exchange between the local population and those from other mountain regions of the world.

The restoration work on the castle was carried out with the help of the EM2 Architekten studio and involved the rehabilitation of the walls and the elimination of non-historical superfetations, while the past and the signs left by the passage of the eras.
The extension buildings in the entrance area were made of wood in order to distinguish the modern intervention from the ancient elements.
