Synagogue of Bologna

The Synagogue of Bologna was built in 1928 and rebuilt in 1954 after the war destruction. The façade looks onto via Mario Finzi 4, with the entrance from via De 'Gombruti 9. The synagogue is in use by the Jewish community of Bologna.

In the ghetto, in the shadow of the two towers of the Asinelli and of the Garisenda, between 1586 and 1593, the Jewish community of Bologna met in a synagogue, of which the only building remains today in via dell'Inferno 16. At the end of The eighteenth century community slowly reconstituted itself after the dispersion following the expulsion of 1593.
